Being born a royal has been the wish of many Freedonian children. One could only imagine what it would be like to live in a castle, having your every need taken care of and one day becoming a king or a queen. These are the things that dreams are made of. Being born a royal has been the wish of many Freedonian children. One could only imagine what it would be like to live in a castle, having your every need taken care of and one day becoming a king or a queen. These are the things that dreams are made of. As the young Connors twins wake to find their clothes pressed and laid out for them, Prince Charlie and Kelly have no idea of the evil that is coming their way. The life they had come to know is about to come to an end. As they head to breakfast, they know that they might be eating alone, again. They understand why their parents, Prince Charles and Lady Catherine, won't be there. The health of their ailing grandfather, the Wizard King of Freedonia, is declining. He has much to pass on to his heir and not much time left to do it in. If that is not bad enough, Drake Aldric, the Commander of the Castle Guards and Freedonian Army has canceled their tenth birthday party because of a threat to the royal family. There will be no friends, presents or red berry fizzlespitches. Drake Aldric is following the Guard manual to the letter. Due to the threat, he has tripled the number of guards, moved the army closer to the village and won't let any royal out of the royal quarters without armed security guards. Even the twin's three godfathers didn't come to see them on their birthday. Molly and Mick McGruter and Sarah and Patrick Magee know why, but didn't have the heart to tell the twins that their godfathers had been accused of trying to kill a pub keeper in the village. Not one of them believed it, but couldn't understand why they ran away. What follows is what nightmares are made of.
Autorenporträt
About my buddy, My name is Artie No. At least that's what I was called after I adopted two humans eight summers ago. They later shortened my name to Artie. Our den is in a place called Wisconsin. Sometimes it is warm there, other times it is cold and then there are times where it is very cold. My buddy says there are two seasons in Wisconsin, winter and construction. I like these two humans. The lady of the den lets me share the couch with her and she fills my bowl two times a day. I think she does this so I will take my buddy on walks each day. My job is to watch after them and alert them of intruders. I don't know why, but right after I hear a ringing in my ears, someone always comes to the door. I like it when their two kids and their mates come to visit. I even like it more when they bring my buddy's grand kids. They run about and drop food. I like them, especially the dropping of food part. Sometimes I worry about my buddy though. He throws a ball and wants me to go and bring it back. Then he throws it again. If he wanted it so bad, why does he throw it away? And then there is this thing he calls "The Confuser". He keeps it in the room where I nap sometimes. I don't understand him. He pokes at it with his fingers. That seems like a waste of time when he could be scratching my ears. I overlook his flaws though, because he is my buddy.
