DENNIS HATHAWAY is the author of The Consequences of Desire, which received the 1992 Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction. He grew up on an Iowa farm and now lives with his wife in Venice, California. His short stories have appeared in a number of literary magazines, including TriQuarterly, The Georgia Review, and The Southwest Review. He has been a journalist, building contractor, and head of the Los Angeles-based Coalition to Ban Billboard Blight. He was the founding editor of Crania, an online literary magazine, and taught fiction writing at UCLA. He is also the author of The Taste of Flesh, a collection of poetry.
