Bachelor Thesis from the year 2014 in the subject Business economics - General, grade: 1.0, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Architecture and Planning), course: Development Planning, language: English, abstract: This research sought to investigate into the contribution of mobile phones to the development of the local economy as well as livelihoods in Ghana. Mobile phones based on their functions, benefits, and luxury has increased in number and usage both in the urban and rural areas in Ghana. However, its contribution to livelihood development as well as local economic development has received minimal research focus in the Ghanaian context. Survey research design was adopted. A total of 160 respondents were selected from 2000 households at 5% margin of error and 95% significant level. Face-to-face interview was granted to each of the respondents.
