Teachers' Association carries out a variety of responsibilities to enhance the quality of service provided by its members in particular and by the system in general. It also contributes to elevate the character and interest of the profession. It seems cognizant of this fact that, the Ethiopian MoE in its 1994 policy issued that the recruitment of trainees in the teaching profession has to be carried out in collaboration with the association. However, the existing reality in the teacher eduction system does not show an encouraging result and the reasons behind the problem have not yet been identified. Thus, the book provides an insight on the contributions of the association in promoting the quality of education and analyzes the factors that affect it in doing so. To this end, concept, aspects and indicators of quality education, ways of the association's contributions (for teacher quality; professionalization; and research publication and curriculum evaluation) and the factors(the association's status and approach, its stakeholders collaboration) are reviewed. The analysis is useful to the association, teachers, and other concerned bodies of the eduction system.
