Emily Clocke is on another planet. Well, that's how she feels, anyway, after being dragged by her widower mother from a perfectly comfortable California existence to a lonely Chicago suburb. And it doesn't help that her brooding older brother Eric is giving her the silent treatment, her classmates barely notice she exists, and the new science teacher seems intent on making her into some kind of nerd pariah. So it's no wonder Emily feels like the world is going to end, or that she's floating in a vast, dark void. You'd think, then, that Emily wouldn't feel much of anything when her science teacher one day tells her that the world is, in fact, going to end, and that the only way to survive would be to accompany her into a vast, dark void to a space station orbiting another planet 500 years in the future where the self-proclaimed 'remnant' of Earth lives. Except that, when it actually does happen, Emily does feel it. She feels it deeply, because she ends up leaving behind all of the things she didn't realize she cared about. And mild mannered Emily Clocke will stop at nothing to get it all back. Jumping from present day Earth to 26th-century Jupiter and back again, The Counterclock Prophecy is a breakneck adventure where time-travel doesn't quite work the way you think, and saving your family may come at the expense of the entire world.
