Rezensionen
The travel metaphor is exceptionally appropriate for this book. Pack your leadership travel bag, and be sure to take this interactive book with you as your map. Be prepared, however, to sweat and stretch and grow in both strength and fitness as a leader...these authors have made the journey and will be excellent guides for you as you choose to take the road less traveled. -- Dr. Connie L. Fulmer, executive board member for National Council of Professors of Educational Administration The Courage to Lead is a must read for all school leaders! By discovering and developing your own skills, Servais and Sanders guide you through practical, real-life examples of how you can motivate, cultivate, and collaborate with the people around you to create the most effective learning community for kids. -- Griffin Sonntag, assistant middle school principal As a district leadership team we moved together from a general understanding of the leadership standards (ISLLC and ELCC) and followed the road that Kristine and Kellie outline in their book. Our administrators used the leadership exercises to develop their own fitness profile and establish personal leadership goals. We have worked hard together, celebrated together, and had a lot of fun as a group. The Courage to Lead has been a guide in getting to know each member of the team and growing as an organization, district, and school. -- Linell Lasswell, assistant superintendent of Curriculum/Instruction This guide identifies six areas where transformational leaders can take action, provides exercises for defining both the personal and organizational vision, and assesses leadership through the use of standards. Reference and Research Book News, May 2006 I like The Courage to Lead in all respects. Not only is the journey notion great, but especially the titles and imagery of each chapter are perfect. The whole flow is inspiring enticing for action. In addition to walking the talk, I think increasingly leaders have to be able to 'talk the walk'-being communicators, linking people into the big picture, etc. Great job. -- Dr. Michael Fullan, author of Leading in a Culture of Change…mehr
