Autorenporträt
Dr. Ramchandra Behera (born 1945) is an iconic Odia writer of our time. He is a master interpreter of life and struggle of the common man. His short stories and novels eventually reach their culmination in overcoming all struggles which glorify human values built to a heightened scale. The author's ability to bring in hope in the face of defeat and disaster is astounding. Among many awards, he has received Sarala Puraskar for the short story collection Omkar Dhwani in 1991, Odisha Sahitya Academy Award for the novel Abhinayara Paridhi in 2005, Central Sahitya Academy Award for the short story collection Gopapura in 2005. He was the President of Odisha Sahitya Academy from 2010 to 2013. He taught English literature and retired as a Principal.
