This is a fictional story full of fun characters, but it deals with the emotions that real life and hard experiences put children through. Many children have had to deal with adult conflict and it has affected their childhood. It is difficult enough for adults to handle, but for a child, it can be devastating. When a child has to live through ongoing adult conflict, they desperately need guidance. No matter how much they are loved, they are at times, left tending to their own pain, while their hurting parent is learning to heal as well. This book was written with hopes of reuniting children and their heartbroken parent so that they can heal together, which bonds their relationship even stronger than before. It is the first book in a series. It is about the offence, reunion and the beginning of the healing process. The books following are about confronting the pain, healing together, recovering other relationships, and moving on in strength and self-discovery.
Autorenporträt
Lake Erie is like my old friend. I have returned to it for comfort at many times in my life. I have spent hours on its shores collecting beach glass as well as sorting through my thoughts. I love taking in the sounds of its powerful waves crashing into the cliffs and shorelines for they drown out the echoes of hurtful voices that have haunted me from my past. I grew up near it shores and my daughter is now doing the same. I have been a dancer, photographer, school teacher and now a writer. I have written several books on the healing process that takes place after abuse, on the self-discovery that takes place during restoration and on the importance of self care after toxic relationships. Lately, I have written more humorous books with my daughter to make my students laugh and to help us move on from difficult places and enjoy life with a bit of sparkle.
