The Crystal Navigator is the story of eleven year old Lucy Nightingale, who loses her confidence in school and goes on a magical, perilous adventure back in time where she meets five famous artists, and regains her confidence. Children will fly back to the fifteenth century with Lucy and her funny Wise One, Wilbur, a Corgi. They will accompany Lucy and Wilbur every step of the way through a whirlwind adventure: escaping a knife-wielding ogress by jumping into a painting, seeing the real Lisa of Leonardo's Mona Lisa, touching the Sistine ceiling, and being marooned inside Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. They will help Lucy solve the puzzle of saving Wilbur's life and getting safely home

Autorenporträt

Nancy Kunhardt Lodge has a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Renaissance Art History. She taught at Tufts, Boston, and American Universities. She has written scholarly articles and delivered papers at Renaissance conferences in Italy and the U.S., among them the Frick Collection of Art, the Corcoran Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian Resident Associates Program. She is a member of SCBWI, and the College Art Association. She has written two books in a series about Lucy Nightingale's dare devil adventures. Dr. Lodge is the granddaughter of Dorothy Kunhardt, author of the children's classic, Pat the Bunny. She lives in the West Newbury, MA. area with her husband and two Corgis, Wilbur and Charlotte.
