This book uncovers issues mainly overlooked when dealing with civil conflicts in Africa. Darfur is taken as a case study due to the complexities that are associated with it and the difficulties faced in the mitigation efforts. Great attention has been paid to the role of China and its participation in peacekeeping operations while maintaining the principle of non-interference. Peacekeeping under the United Nations is also discussed with the aim of identifying the difficulties and limitations experienced when dealing with civil conflicts in the African continent.
