Two detectives take thirty years between them to solve the murders that surround Marcy Morton and her father, Asher. She is convinced during her developmental years by her self-centered stepmother that she can't be beautiful because she is darker than a paper bag. She spends the same thirty years discovering who she is; that her complexion doesn't diminish her beauty and to learn to love herself. Who is really the dark one?

Autorenporträt
The story of "Blind as a Bat, Wise as and Owl" is referenced in this book. The author has contributed it as a Gift. It was written during the Vietnam War by Bernard N. Johnson, Jr. while he was stationed in Panama. There wasn't much more to do in the jungles or on the army base. Again, this is fictional but entertaining.
