A native Texan, T. Berry graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1970. After graduating, he began a career in education which spanned over four decades; working as a high school social teacher, basketball coach, and administrator. As a teacher, he developed a passion for storytelling and educating students about the people, events, triumphs, and tragedies of the past so they could become well-informed citizens. He started writing merely as a hobby and also enjoys reading and is an avid sport fan.
