During the summer of 2020 one man traveled miles ... to a forgotten people ... to save a nation ... and honor his wife. "The Day The World Sneezed" is a story of hope, helping others, and finding the "light-hearted" moments in the midst of tragedy. ¿There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, "Father, give me my share of the estate." So he divided his property between them. Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there . . . Wait, wrong story! There was a man named Elmer who had no sons. The man had a wife, but she died. After Edith passed, Elmer divided all her Amazon purchases between a barn out back of his farm house and a storage facility in a rural part of America that almost no one ever visits. Not long after that, a man from the Bureau of Land Management stopped by to ask if Elmer was "stock piling cleaning supplies"-supplies vital to stopping the spread of a really bad "crud" sweeping across America. Elmer said he was. The Bureau Man then made Elmer an offer he could refuse, which Elmer did. Not long after the Bureau Man drove away, Elmer got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there . . . is where the story begins. If you enjoy light-hearted humor and finding silver linings in clouds, you may enjoy Elmer's efforts to practice the Golden Rule.

Eddie is an award-winning author of YA fiction. Father of two boys, he's also a pirate at heart who loves to surf. His Caribbean Chronicles series is a humorous time-travel pirate fantasy adventure series. Eddie's Caden Chronicles series is wholesome, who-done-it-and-why mystery reading built around "so-called" supernatural events. (Nick Caden debunks these paranormal myths while solving the case.) Blessed beyond measure, book income from this "Pirate Preacher" goes to feed, clothe, and shelter the homeless in downtown Raleigh. You can find him on Sunday's in Moore Square or at the bus station with other members of "Team Jesus." Learn more about their work at: mooresquarechurch org.
