The world is not moving in the right direction and the pandemic is one of the case studies of how humanity is moving in a not so good direction in terms of values, thinking, education, knowledge and last but not least, mentality. The book it is an invitation to introspection and in-depth knowledge, written in a sincere manner, giving personal examples, but also by abstraction and extrapolation to the general perspective. It's about manipulation - how the few manipulate the many. A radiography of yesterday's and today's society, a broad vision of a world in constant transformation, marked by the Covid-19 crisis but also by people's estrangement from the ancestral and spiritual. A manifesto against dogmas, whether in science, knowledge or culture, a call for thorough research and decision-making. The author is formulating nuanced and highly pertinent opinions that identify and diagnose existential issues at the human, social, scientific, cultural and religious levels, trying to provide a holistic picture of reality through which he wants to propose a version of it as close as possible to natural phenomenologies and truth. The red thread pursued is to highlight the subtle manipulative processes that are manifested at the social level in today's global society and that are produced either by the alteration of knowledge in general or by the dissolution of values and their replacement by counterproductive substitutes for a healthy social life. The proposed approach being anti-dogmatic, the book is structured in a non-mainstream way, in the sense that it deliberately does not offer demonstrations, references and/or footnotes... In many cases the book offers directions, but does not complete them, leaving the reader free to seek through his own efforts to deepen those aspects where he feels the need to insist for a better understanding of things. It's a challenging book to get through, and as the author says `it is not like a walk in the park. It is a book for people who want to climb mountains - and for them I built a summit - because evolution is not easy. It is compulsory`.
