The Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R. CONGO) is a country of great importance when it comes to conserving the planet, and therefore combating climate change. As the second most forested country in the world, D.R. CONGO possesses great biodiversity and incredible natural wealth, including the equatorial forest which is essential for regulating the global climate.Unfortunately, these forests are threatened by deforestation caused by mining, shifting agriculture and urban expansion. However, the D.R. CONGO government is taking important steps to combat deforestation and help save the planet.
