Specifically speaking, the destruction of the city myth of Istanbul which has hitherto been (re)produced in Turkish cinema will be examined through the prominent examples of the 90's Turkish films in the light of the historical changes in the spatial and social representation of Istanbul.
Autorenporträt
She is a Ph.D candidate and research assistant in the Department of Sociology at Middle East Technical University. She is about to finish her dissertation on women¿s experience of the public space in urban everyday life. This book is her master research, which was awarded Young Social Scientists Prize by the Turkish Social Sciences Association.
