Eric Colbourne was born in Newfoundland in 1944. He is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, McGill University at Montreal, and the University of Reading in the UK. His published works include Disappeared: Stories from the Coast of Newfoundland, Dancing on Air, The Diary of a Fishing Master, and numerous satirical essays online. He lives in the small outport community of Lush's Bight-Beaumont, NL.
