McKay wurde 2005 in Frankfurt geboren und zog mit drei Jahren nach Arizona, USA, wo sie zwölf Jahre lebte, bevor sie in ihr Geburtsland zurückkehrte. Schon in jungen Jahren entdeckte sie ihre Liebe zum Lesen und zum Eintauchen in neue Welten, was eine Leidenschaft für das Erfinden von Geschichten entfachte, die sie entweder mit ihrem Spielzeugvorrat auslebte oder in grob gezeichneten Bilderbüchern zum Leben erweckte. Mit neun Jahren begann McKay, ihr erstes Fantasybuch zu schreiben. Obwohl sie damit nicht weit kam, schreibt sie seitdem weiter, sowohl auf Englisch als auch auf Deutsch. Heute, mit neunzehn, arbeitet McKay als Taekwondo-Trainerin und freut sich darauf, Kreatives Schreiben zu studieren.
