Stacy Demoran Allbritton, a New Orleans native, has always been fascinated by the multi-layered history of her home state. She holds a BA in French and an MA in romance languages from the University of New Orleans, where she received the 2005 James Whitlow Award for Excellence in Romance Languages. She was a high school French and English teacher in Louisiana before deciding to pursue opportunities in writing and travel. She and her husband reside in Louisiana. Growing up, Joyce Haynes knew that she wanted to become an artist. Since receiving her BA from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, she has worked as an art director, a children's book illustrator, and a designer. Stacy Demoran Allbriton taught French and English at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. An advocate for French culture, she founded the school's French club and expanded their French curriculum from a two year to a four year program. Committed to fostering her students' interest in France, Allbritton led them on summer excursions to the country. Allbritton is a contributor to Laureate literary magazine. Her awards include selection for Who's Who Among America's Teachers and the University of New Orleans' James Whitlow Outstanding Achievement Award. She is a member of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, the St. Tammany Federation of Teachers and School Employees, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Allbritton has volunteered for the Red Cross, serving in capacities from translator to secretary. Allbritton earned a bachelor's degree in French and a master's degree in romance languages, both from the University of New Orleans. Inspired by her heritage and French contributions to Louisiana's language, culture, and cuisine, Allbritton wrote The Diary of Marie Landry, Acadian Exile. Her interests range from gardening and skiing to, of course, France. Allbritton divides her time between Monroe, Louisiana, and Paris, France.
