The influence of a language is more the consequence of political and cultural circumstances, than based on its own characteristics and pertinence. Indeed, it is the balance of power than determines the status of a language in the international arena. The important role of the French and English languages is the result of the French and British economic, cultural, scientific and political power, and nowadays the United States is leading the world through English language, when at the same time new powers are emerging (China, India).
