Autorenporträt
Russell Isaac Humberd's parents moved to Flora, Indiana, a few months after Russell was born. He did not know exactly when he was saved, but he did know that from an early age he wanted to serve the Lord. He had gone forward in a revival meeting; he was baptized at age 12. In 1915 he married his sweetheart, and they had seven children. Answering the call for help in a mountain mission, Humberd went to Kentucky for a time, then on to Moody Bible Institute, where he graduated in 1921. More schooling followed. In 1926 he graduated from college with an A. B. Degree. After taking a church in Michigan, he went to Pennsylvania and was pastor there for thirteen years. He also taught at the Altoona Bible Institute, wrote for several magazines and brought forth many of his booklets while there. Circumstances necessitated a move to Akron, Ohio, then back to his birthplace, where permanent headquarters were established. His most well-known books were: Humberd's Bible Charts; The Card With a Red Border (fiction); and The Book of Revelation. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church. He spoke on 66 different radio stations in 25 states, as well as the Panama Canal Zone and Canada, and in 112 colleges, seminaries and Bible institutes. Several of his articles were used in THE SWORD OF THE LORD. He died in 1965 in Flora, Indiana, at age 72. (THIS INFORMATION ABOUT R. I.
