This captivating environment science book looked into the solid waste management in three Nigerian cities, Lagos, Enugu and Onitsha. . The book specifically detailed the attitudes of the communities (the society, municipal solid waste management agencies and the government). Recommendations for the government to take a more pro-active approach towards the environmental and sanitary conditions of the communities and, to stop running municipal solid waste management programmes marred by inadequate facilities, poorly funded, technologically inept and without substantive and implementable government policies. Programmes chiefly managed by unprofessional and untrained workers most of who were politically appointed because of pay backs and had no training in environmental management.
