I was born in the coastal town of Dover. After leaving school, I worked in the motor trade for many years. I spent seven years as a special constable in Kent and Cornwall before moving with my family to Australia in 1969. I spent three years writing for a farming newspaper in Western Australia. After retiring, we set off to live in France. We later returned and re-settled in Victoria then moved up to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. We now live in Perth, Western Australia.
