Documentary theatre responds to the calls/needs of the contemporary world, whose artistic awakening is the objective of those who work in it, promoting theatrical art through the use of dramaturgical and directorial innovations. The works of the most deserving writers and directors of this theatrical genre are analyzed, including Hallie Flanagan, Martin Duberman, Anna Deavere Smith, and Emily Mann, but the valuable dramaturgical and directorial work of the City Lights Youth Theater company is also highlighted.

Elina Daraklitsa es profesora adjunta de Historia del Teatro y Escritura Teatral en la Universidad Abierta de Grecia. Ha sido profesora visitante en cuatro universidades de Europa (Universidad Capodistriana de Atenas, Universidad del Peloponeso, Universidad Abierta de Chipre y Universidad de Galäi).
