The genre of the book is what can be categorized as "science faction, for much of the story remains faithful to the times in which we live." The fictional story, written in the first person, tells the story of a young secular Jew named Jacob Cahn as he attempts to understand the meaning of a strange recurrent dream. After finishing his pre-med degree at Emery University in Atlanta, he rejects his family's expectations for him to follow in his father's footsteps to become a general practitioner and decides instead to become a geneticist. He is accepted by the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He leaves behind Rachel, a girl whom he dearly loves whose father, an Orthodox Jew, refuses to sign their ketuba, the Jewish engagement contract. Flavored with a generous amount of Yiddish humor, the story contains many surprises along a path that ultimately leads this brilliant geneticist to accept Yeshua as his Lord and Savior. Jacob's reputation is tested in the crucible of the contest between good and evil. His path ultimately leads him to discover the special calling and destiny God has prepared for this completed Jewish believer.
