Seventeen years since Amy and Terry divorced, an accident takes her husband Brett and son Michael from Amy and her daughter Lucy's lives. Hoani's sister Reka intends to train to be a Nanny in Auckland; But her life is in danger, after a chance encounter with school friend Toby, who has members of his brother's gang in his car with him. When the gang learn of toby's intention to marry Reka, they insist they also "own" (and intend to rape) her. Reka is smuggled to safety in Auckland, while Toby disappears to a new life, with a new identity (Kiwa) in the deep south. A nationwide search by gangs eventually locates them both. Reka is kidnapped and taken south ( her friend Mahina is accidently brought along too) for the confrontation with Kiwa.

Autorenporträt
Rosemary Thomas is the author of nine titles in the Kiwi Kingdom Series. Born and brought up on New Zealand's West Coast in Westland; where the Kiwi Kingdom is set. Rosemary is a retired Nurse, Mother and Grandmother. Living with her husband in Western Australia. Walks in Nature, making craft for charity and writing fill her days. Her mother's love of writing began in the 2000's. Writing prose about places Rosemary had visited, was the beginning of her venture into writing. A dream about Keanu and Keona Kiwi's journey to Lake Kaniere resulted in the first book of the series "The Kiwi Kingdom in 2010.
