The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of working conditions, compensation and decision making styles on job satisfaction amongst university teachers which is undertaken in four public universities in Ethiopia. The sample consists of 347 academic staffs from Addis Ababa University, Adama Science and Technology University, Debre Berhan University, and Debre Markos University with a response rate of 75.8%. The instruments used in this study were structured questionnaire which is taken from different sources for example decision making style questionnaire were taken from decision making style model developed by Alan & Richard, 1987 and instruments for working conditions were taken from Jamaican Teacher Satisfaction Survey (JTSS). Correlation and Multiple regression analysis were used to determine the relationship between and influence of working conditions, compensation and decision making style on job satisfaction.
