This work was aimed at investigating the effects of Alchornea Cordifolia leaf extract on the mechanical properties of mild steel in acidic medium. The corrosion penetration rates were compared for both in the absence and in the presence of the leaf extract at different concentration from 1 day to 21 days. The effect of the Alchornea Cordifolia leaf extract showed a substantial improvement on the mechanical properties of mild steel for the medium with the inhibitor.
