Colombia's internal armed conflict has had a negative impact on the right to education. Displaced children have lower access to education than non-displaced Colombian children. The Colombian government has failed to respect, protect and fulfill the availability, accessibility, acceptability, and adaptability of the right to education. The present book is divided into three different chapters. The first chapter aims to study the legal mechanisms that recognize the right to education at the international, regional and national levels in Colombia. The second chapter approaches the Colombian internal armed conflict and the internal displacement crisis that is currently taking place in the country. Finally, the third and final chapter examines the degree in which the right to education is (not) respected, protected, and fulfilled in Colombia among IDPs.
