Food insecurity is now rampant and rapacious in the Zambezi valley communities. The major causes of food insecurity include climate change,human wildlife conflicts, lack of access to land for agriculture, deficiency of knowledge and equipment for agriculture. Child marriages, divorce and family separations, loss of weight by women and children and family conflicts and fighting were mentioned as the nagging effects of food insecurity in the district.The paper through research participants suggests that dam construction, conservation farming, practice of agro ecology and community gardening can be a panacea to food insecurity in Binga rural district.
