The results of the study reveal that there was no active members participation: in provision of resources, in the decision-making processes and in the produced benefits. This passive and inconsistent members participation in all level of participation was found to be responsible for lack of sustainability in SACOS of the study area. Based on the empirical evidences from the study it was concluded that SACCOS in the study area are not sustainable. To expand the business of the societies and enable them to become self-secured, self-reliant and sustainable, members should actively participate in provision of resources, in decision-making process and in sharing the produced benefits.
