Mr. Munson retired in 2014 from the Joyner Library, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. He has edited letters written by NC Civil War Soldiers, later published by McFarland Publishing Company, in addition to compiling books of material found in 19th Century NC newspapers. While at ECU, he contributed over 12,000 abstracts of magazine articles about NC to the NC Periodicals Index
