Why name my story The Elephant Buttons? Long ago elephants roamed our land. And when they were shot out, only their pathways were left behind. A tiny bit of that land was awarded to Nor's husband for being a soldier. They built a little cottage, it was to be their new life together. Living in that strange place; the bush baby's cry, the great Kudu's bark and the Leopard's breathy roar scared Nor. She called for her Welsh faeries to help her. They turned the farm into a magical place by using the ancient elephant pathway with great respect. Only there was a being who lived there too, "You-Know-Who"! He scared the old farmworker Frans silly. This story is about conquering fear. 24683 words

Autor

Soon after we married my husband took me by the hand and led me to the wild places where he worked as a game ranger and a biologist. I was in heaven and although I was an artist the natural places and wild animals around me held so much interest that I wanted to write for children. Little was written for children at that time and I wanted to pass my knowledge on. Shuter&Shooter published my Taffy Tales (now out of date) as a school reader and perhaps The Elephant Buttons can be used the same way. Taffy Tales was made into a school play and became a tape for the blind. I have written stories all my life but have not been successful in publishing them. D2D gives me that chance.
