West is the author of Wynter of Wolves, Wynter of Wolves The Seven, The Dark of October, and The Veil.B. D. West was born in Nashville, TN. Until the age of 17, she called Tennessee home before joining her mother in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina.The people living in the small towns of the Appalachian Mountains, North Carolina, and The Easter Band of the Cherokee have been a constant source of inspiration for her short stories and characters.After being given a writing assignment in 9th grade by her English teacher, Mrs. Smithson, B. D. West has been writing since the age of 14. Writing has been both a passion and a source of comfort for her, spanning over 30 years, as she navigated through numerous challenges. When her son Dakota was 5, he was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Using social stories, B found that her love for writing became her most effective teaching tool for him. Despite developing an autoimmune disorder and fibromyalgia, she kept her dream alive by composing poetry, and stories for her son. She also wrote letters to the editor for local newspapers, and articles for the Autism Society of NC support group chapter of which she was the chapter president for almost 5 years. In 2020, her debut book, Wynter of Wolves, was released.In addition to being a writer, B. D. West enjoys reading, nature walks, indie music, traveling, movies, and quality time with loved ones.B. resides with her husband Eric, son Dakota, two bossy cats named Ruth and Idgie, and their chihuahua Bandit in North Carolina.
