This document is particularly addressed to association leaders, public and private administrations, public and private sector companies, lawyers, students and researchers, but also to local populations of an age to form associations in order to defend the interests of the group or populations that are victims of inequality. In Gabon, the associative environment is one that is faced with numerous difficulties related to the obsolescence of the law and its misinterpretation. For associations to be effective, it depends on the legal, regulatory and political conditions in which they operate. It is their mission to influence public institutions through advocacy and to bring about change at the global level. They must operate in an enabling environment. This is why the establishment of a joint working group including civil society organizations, the public administration and technical and financial partners is essential to improve the legal framework for associations in order to revitalize the civic (inclusive) space in Gabon.
