This book was written for the purpose of sharing opinions and information on the dynamics of village administration which today are becoming hot issues again in Indonesia. The issue of regulating and making policies regarding villages in Indonesia since the era of Dutch colonialism to the present has always been dominated by the political interests of the power of the current government regime, rather than the objective interests of the nation. This means that the various arrangements and policies regarding the village made by each ruling government regime still do not favor the objective interests of the village community and the nation as a whole. Therefore, the village community up to now, even though the latest legislation through Law 6/2014 on Villages with its various implementing regulations seems populist, has not yet touched the root of the problem which makes village institutions still powerless.
