Daniel C. Matt, PhD, a leading authority on the Zohar and kabbalah, is author of the best - selling The Essential Kabbalah (translated into seven languages); Zohar: The Book of Enlightenment; and Zohar: Annotated & Explained (SkyLight Paths). He was professor of Jewish spirituality for over twenty years at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, and he continues to lecture around the country on Jewish mysticism.
