Autorenporträt
The late Norbert Elias′ work ranged across societies of all types and historical eras and transcended disciplinary boundaries. Among the many original features of his work was a committment to sociology as a historical science examining long-term developmental processes. His books include The Civilizing Process, The Court Society, What is Sociology and The Symbol Theory (Sage, 1991). The late John L Scotson was a lecturer at Lougborough College of Further Education.
