As residents of the European Union, are we aware of what the European Union does for us? Is it possible to become acquainted with the millions of euros that member countries contribute to the EU? This paper uses a top-down approach to explore the subject of the European Cohesion Policy and answers these questions. In the first part, it recapitulates the issue of the cohesion policy of the European Union on a wider scale. In the second part, it outlines, through a case study of the project EdTWIN , how the budget of the European Cohesion is used for the needs of the citizens. Therefore an evaluation of the project within the cross-border programme Austria-Slovakia has been carried out.
