Autorenporträt
Jordan Salzano is an aspiring young speaker and author who grew up in Long Island, New York. Through a love of hockey and helping others-and after overcoming specific challenges-she was driven to inspire audiences on stage and through her writing, on the road to self-improvement. Described by others as a compassionate encourager and mentor to others, Jordan developed the Hunger for Improvement process, to help peers and others reach their goals and improve their lives. Currently attending Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts, she is pursuing both Occupational Therapy and Communications, and plans to apply both fields to her career. As Jordan states, "Besides becoming an OT, I aspire to become a powerful motivational speaker who influences people from all over the world. That is something I am so hungry for-a dream that never escapes my mind. In fact, you could say that speaking and motivating others is an enormous passion. I want to inspire others who have gone through what I have, to motivate students and others to always remember the Hunger for Improvement points that I 'share'. Putting others before self is a priority of hers. It's just a part of her to want to place other's needs in front of her own. No matter how big or small the project may be, Jordan is willing to give up her free time for the sake of aiding others. It is, as she states, "self-rewarding. Seeing someone else's day brighten up or seeing them smile because of me is an amazing 'feeling'. Motivational speaking is an excellent way to express this passion of hers. As she motivates others, she is motivating herself. According to Jordan, that ties into the "self-rewarding" concept. Motivation is a huge part of her life, as she strongly believes that it should be a part of others' lives as well. Without a sense of motivation, it can be very difficult to even get through a single day. Jordan states that "All of us have probably come face to face with this some time in our lives, and it is safe to say that it is definitely not a settling feeling to have." In finale, Jordan shares her idea that "Motivation is what gives us the life we want to live. Not the desire to live just because we were born and placed 'here'.
