This work provides an analysis of the evolution of rap music from a technological, cultural, and historical perspective. The author uses historical references as well as interviews conducted within the London hip-hop community in order to discuss this evolution. By comparing technological and cultural trends in hip-hop to related trends in rock & roll fifty years ago, this work provides a basis for forecasting the future of rap music. The project was also a lot of fun for the author because Stanford funded his travel to London, where he got to hang out and chat with rappers, DJs, and producers. In the unlikely event that you read this book, the author hopes that some of the fun he had rubs off on you too.
