José Juan Tablada was a Mexican painter, writer, art critic, diplomat and poet. He is credited with introducing the Spanish-speaking world to Japanese haiku and tanka short form poetry. A. Scott Britton is a poet, translator, and linguist. He has written extensively about the Zapotec, Guaraní, Hawaiian and Catalan languages, and his poetry and translations have appeared in a variety of international literary journals. He lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
