A dog named Folly wakes up to find that none of her friends came to celebrate with her on her birthday. She gains some courage, sets out on an adventure, and meets different obstacles that cause her to feel a variety of emotions. Folly is a happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever who wakes up on her birthday morning, ready to party with her friends. When she can't find her owners, sister, or friends, she thinks everyone forgot about her. Instead of wallowing in sadness, Folly remembers the self-regulating techniques her friends have taught her. She vows to go on an epic puppy adventure to make her birthday wonderful. With each new challenge comes a new opportunity to practice self-regulating techniques. Filled with colorful pages that each serve as a mini arts and crafts example, preschool, kindergarten, and elementary education teachers can create lesson plans and in-class crafts to complement a book read along. Intended for children between infancy and 6 years, parents and guardians can use The Fabulous Feelings of Folly to help their children learn to self-regulate when feeling "big" emotions like being upset, fear, and anger. In addition, The Fabulous Feelings of Folly features illustrated self-regulation techniques like counting, giving yourself a hug, stomping your feet, and using your words that teachers can use in their classrooms.
