The failure behind policy making and implementation of the Amnesty program has given the Niger Delta in particular, and the country in general lack of peace. Corruption play a significant role in the formulation and implementation of policies in Nigeria. It has made policies formulated and implemented fail to address fundamental issues. Only a proper and prompt address of various issue that occasioned the Niger Delta crisis can consolidate the gains of the amnesty program and the failure of which might lead to the re-emergence of more crisis in the region. This perspective is pictured on the fact that sustainable peace can't be dictated but can be conceived since genuine peace is not really about the absence of conflict but rather the presence of equity.
