She has been employed with the State of Michigan in several capacities. She was employed with the United States Labor Department as a Youth Employment Interviewer and a Job Corp Interviewer. She has been a Teacher for 25 years with The Detroit Board of Education. She is active in her church and the community. She is a member of several organizations, and a Life Member of the NAACP. She writes children books to encourage literary and character building for children.
