There I was: a lone male among more than 30 females. Then it suddenly hit me. I was an oddity a male in a female profession, public relations. Women outnumber men three to one, and the figure is increasing. But why is this happening? This landmark study focuses on the PR profession in Australia (and includes data from other countries). With surveys, interviews and focus groups of students at four universities and communicators from all areas of the profession, this work considers what the long-term effects of this global trend might be.
