Janek Wörner wurde 1984 in Berlin geboren und wuchs in einem urbanen Umfeld auf, das ihn schon früh mit den dunklen Seiten des Lebens konfrontierte. Nach dem Abitur entschied er sich gegen ein Studium und begann stattdessen, in verschiedenen Berufen zu arbeiten, darunter als Nachtwächter, Barkeeper und Sicherheitskraft. Diese Erfahrungen prägten seine Sicht auf die Welt und fanden ihren Weg in seinen Geschichten. Seit seiner Jugend ist er fasziniert von Kriminalfällen und Psychologie, was ihn dazu brachte, nebenberuflich Thriller zu schreiben.
