Noémi Szécsi's first book, The Finno-Ugrian Vampire was voted the Best Book in Hungary in 2011. Her second novel was Hungarian winner of the 2009 European Union Prize for Literature. Author of four novels, she was awarded the state decoration Jozsef Attila dij for her literary achievements. Peter Sherwood: Peter Sherwood is Distinguished Professor of Hungarian Language and Culture, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, US. Recipient of 2011, Janos Lotz Medal of the International Association for Hungarian Studies, his translations span prose, short stories, poetry, drama and opera.
