Muhammad Ali Mojaradi is a scholar, teacher, and translator of Persian poetry. Born and raised in Michigan in an Iranian immigrant household, he moved to Tehran at the age of fifteen. After earning a degree in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan, Mojaradi studied Arabic at the Qasid Arabic Institute and Jordan University. In 2020, he went back to Tehran to deepen his knowledge of Persian poetry. Upon returning to America, he launched @persianpoetics and created the #rumiwasmuslim campaign, attracting international media attention. Mojaradi has been interviewed in Huffington Post, The Middle East Monitor, The New Arab, New Lines Magazine, and Farsang Journal, and on the podcasts Sacred and Profane, The East is a Podcast, and Al Jazeera’s The Listening Post, among others.
