Max Mabuti began his career as a professional boxer, but quickly became a business leader in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Armed with a wheelbarrow and a dream, Max set out to found a mechanical engineering company, Flat-Foot Engineering, where he is currently the managing director. Max's particularly unique philosophy is "Business as a Boxing Match." He compares business with a boxing match and all its survival tactics. He believes that, as in boxing, a business owner needs a corner man from whom to solicit advise during every round of the match. A business owner-like a boxer who needs a trainer or corner man-also needs a mentor for continued advice and guidance. Max and his wife Vanessa have two children, Ethan and Marley. They have another baby on the way.
